INTRODUCTION
LIVE TECHNICAL DISCUSSION SERIES
Recently India developed and implemented an indigenously developed digitized Bridge Management System called IBMS.
This system was the first digitized system with a database of over 172,000 structures. Continued development and research resulted in evolution of Unified Bridge Management System (UBMS). UBMS is undergoing continued evolution. Incorporation of upcoming technologies will result in Fully digitized automated systems.
Sachidanand Joshi the Chief Research and Concept developer of IBMS will share with us on 8th March at 4.00 pm IST, the journey from conceptualization till date and venture to share the futuristic evolution of Indian Bridge Management System in the next few years. He will take us on ride into future where the development will explore integration of Bridge Information Modelling, evolution of Artificial intelligence based on historical data and the application of the same, Automated response by UBMS for inspection using UAV etc.
The bumpy journey of evolution started when the team was witness to the tragic death of 26 children when a Bridge on which they were traveling collapsed. From 2003 till date, the evolution was a classic example of dedication and focus by the team of IBMS developers. Today they share their dreams and aspirations about future development to ensure the system evolution continues.

Brief about Expert
Er. Sachidanand Joshi – IDDC ENGINEERS PRIVATE LIMITED
His career has been devoted to Rehabilitation of structures. He has been a team leader to over 2000 inspection, repair and rehabilitation projects. Having seen the various causes of distress so closely and the extent of damage and loss that is caused by ZERO maintenance of various structures, he decided to devote his energy to conceptualize a system that can avoid this scenario. From that urge to minimize distress, came his focus on Asset Management Program. Unfortunately there is none available in India. So his quest to create one such system within the parameters of various codal provisions already in practice.
He is presently working passionately to implement Asset Management Programs in various facades of Civil Engineering industry in India. Has been working on the same for the past decade. Hope to complete the same soon.
He has a flair to conceptualize projects and get the team to complete the micro planning.
