INTRODUCTION
SQVE STRUCTURAL SUMMIT | SESSION 90
IS 875 (Part 3) : 2015, the Indian standard for wind loads on buildings and structures, is one of the very important document structural design practice. Whether you’re working on a low-rise industrial shed or a tall residential tower, this code plays a crucial role in estimating lateral loads and ensuring structural safety. With the document currently under revision, this is the ideal moment for the engineering community to come together and reflect on its application, effectiveness, and the challenges faced in real projects.

We are hosting an open brainstorming session that invites structural engineers, designers, consultants, and code users to share their doubts, practical difficulties, and grey areas they encounter while working with IS 875 (Part 3):2015. This is not a lecture — it’s a collective exchange of ideas. We encourage engineers to bring in queries related to wind speed zoning, interpretation of terrain categories, topography factors, pressure coefficients for different roof shapes, issues around the dynamic response of tall structures, cladding and façade design pressures, risk coefficient considerations, gust factor calculations, etc.

This session is meant to be a space to ask questions, share field experiences, and contribute ideas that may even influence how the revised code evolves. Whether you’re an experienced professional or a young engineer just stepping into structural design, your questions and insights are welcome.
You may share specific queries, doubts or discussion points related to IS 875 Part-3 –2015 in advance through registration form.
