INTRODUCTION
SQVE STRUCTURAL SUMMIT
Bridge engineering is complex, involving structural, environmental, and societal factors. Structural engineers handle intricate designs, from simple to elaborate structures, considering traffic, wind, earthquakes, temperature loads, etc. Material choice, construction, and maintenance affect bridge durability. Environmental aspects like river flow and geology impact planning. The challenge lies in balancing expertise, innovation, and the community needs to build lasting structures that benefit society.
Software applications are vital in bridge engineering, streamlining analysis, design, and collaboration. They enable modeling of complex structures, prediction of structural responses under various conditions, and optimization of designs. This aids in ensuring safety, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness in bridge projects. Additionally, software facilitates collaboration among multidisciplinary teams, enhancing communication and workflow efficiency. Software applications play a crucial role in delivering reliable and resilient bridge infrastructure.
In the upcoming live discussion, we are going to talk about software applications in bridge engineering. We are planning to address some of the challenges being faced by structural engineers in the bridge engineering while using MIDAS software. In the live discussion, Er. Nandeep Gohil (Technical Director @ Midas R&D) will attempt to answer few of the areas along with application in the software wherever required.
To organise content of the session, please share the specific queries which you would like to get addressed in the session. Some of the areas are mentioned below for which the specific queries may be shared:
- Modeling Complex Geometries
- Parametric Modeling Capabilities
- Material Modeling and Property Assignment
- Load Definition and Application
- Boundary Conditions and Constraints
- Importance of Construction Sequence
- Buckling Analysis
- Geometric & Material Non-Linear Analysis
- Soil-Structure Interaction
- Dynamic Response and Vibration Analysis

Brief about Expert
Er. Nandeep Gohil (Technical Director @ Midas R&D)
Nandeep Gohil did his B.Tech Civil & M.Tech in Structural engineering from SVNIT, Surat. He joined Jacobs-CES after his post-graduation and worked as bridge design engineers primarily on Indian Highway projects. Since his association with Midas R&D Centre India almost 10 years ago, he has worked on wide variety of bridge structures like extradosed bridges, suspension bridges, spine & wing girder bridges, steel composite bridges and so on. The scope of work involved generating specifications for the bridge software development (midas Civil) as well as assisting the clients in solving the technical issues in usage and validation of the software.
HOW TO REGISTER FOR THE EVENT?
Registration is FREE.
In the following registration form, you may mention specific queries related to software applications in bridge engineering . We will discuss the same during the live session.

STEEL-STR-007: Design of PEB Structures (Part 1) | Warehouse | STAAD Pro | RAM Connections | RCDC
The course commenced on 28-MAR-24. If you wish you may register now and you will get access to the previous recorded sessions along with the course material.
Highlights of the course:
a) We will start the course with basic understanding of structural behaviour and stability concepts for shed type of structure. The important limit states such as flexure buckling, lateral torsional buckling, local buckling, etc. will be explained through finite element modelling of the individual members.
